Russell's Footpath Wayfinding Mural
Agency: Benjamin Watts Design Client: Lambeth Council Role: Design and Creative Direction Brief: After entering a public mural competition for this well used footpath, I was delighted to win the commission. Russell's Footpath is very long, with varying areas and surfaces, so I designed a graphic system of icons that could be used in adaptable ways according to the space. The footpath leads pedestrians towards Streatham Station, the High Road and local shops, so the icons were based around these offerings. I also introduced some wayfinding at key navigation points so people unfamiliar with the path would know where to go. It has proved to be a huge success with the local community.
